Inauguration of Dr. Tanaji Salve Social Foundation: A Tribute to Service and Social Commitment

Going beyond personal responsibilities to serve society is a noble endeavor. This inspiration stems from the values of compassion taught by Gautam Buddha and Saint Tukaram, as well as Saint Dnyaneshwar’s philosophy of “My home is the world.”

Throughout history, great leaders like Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar dedicated their lives to societal progress. Following in their footsteps, Dr. Tanaji Salve made significant contributions to society in his own way. His relentless efforts echo the principles upheld by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Dr. Tanaji Salve Social Foundation, renowned scholar of Sant literature, Dr. Sadanand More, emphasized that Dr. Salve’s work exemplifies the saying “Marave Pari Kirti Rupi Urave”—a life dedicated to service leaves behind an enduring legacy.

The foundation was inaugurated by Dr. Sadanand More, with Dr. Nitin Ghorpade, Principal of Annasaheb Magar College and Member of the Management Council, Savitribai Phule Pune University, presiding over the event. Other esteemed guests included Foundation Trustee Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav, Director and Head of the Lifelong Learning and Extension Department, SPPU, along with Principal Dr. Sushma Bhosale, Principal Dr. Sanjeev Late, and Dr. Navnath Tupe.

The event commenced with an introduction by Dr. Sangeeta Salve, President of the Dr. Tanaji Salve Social Foundation. In his address, Dr. Nitin Ghorpade highlighted that the foundation is carrying forward Dr. Salve’s legacy, emphasizing how he created his own identity through dedicated social work.

As part of the foundation’s outreach efforts, educational materials were donated to Rangehill Secondary and Primary School in Khadki, received by teachers Shashikant Tikote and Gopinath Dhawan.

Friends, colleagues, and admirers of Dr. Tanaji Salve shared heartfelt memories and tributes, recalling his impact on their lives and the community.

The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Dr. Sunanda Thorat, Dr. Apeksha Jadhav, Dr. Vaibhavi Kale, Dr. Sangeeta Ghodke, Dr. Meghna Bhosale, Dr. Savita Kulkarni, Dr. Bhaskar Jangle, Dr. Nana Zagade, Dr. Arjun Doke, Dr. Sanjay Zagade, Dr. Dattatray Sankpal, Shashikant Tikote, Avinash Mahaware, Santosh Mahaware, Nagesh Mahaware, Suresh Salve, Anand Randhir, Gauri Salve, and Vishakha Adhav.

The guests were introduced by Dr. Sarika Mohol, while Dr. Savita Kulkarni efficiently moderated the event. Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav delivered the vote of thanks, marking the conclusion of the meaningful ceremony.
