IIM Rohtak Hosts Passing Out Ceremony for PGPx and ePGDSM Graduates

Rohtak : Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Rohtak celebrated the passing out ceremony for the 5th batch of its Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPx) and Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management (ePGDSM) on 8th September 2024. The event was graced by eminent personalities including Mr. Sangram Singh, renowned Indian wrestler, actor, and motivational speaker, Mr. Mukul Choudhary, CEO of Jamshedpur Football Club and Chief of Sports Excellence Centres at Tata Steel, and Mr. Rajkiran Kanagala, President & Chief Business Officer at TCI Group.

The PGPx programme is tailored for experienced professionals, offering advanced leadership and management education through a case-study-based approach, preparing participants to excel in today’s dynamic business environment. Since its inception in 2018, the ePGDSM programme has pioneered the professionalization of sports management in India, making IIM Rohtak the first and only IIM to offer a sports management diploma.

Prof. Dheeraj Sharma, Director of IIM Rohtak, opened the ceremony by congratulating the graduates and reaffirming the institute’s commitment to cultivating future leaders in both business and sports through a focus on academic excellence and hands-on learning.

The graduating class included 64 participants from the PGPx programme, representing diverse industries such as the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Indian Oil Corporation, Tata Motors, HSBC, Infosys, Capgemini, Boeing, and Wipro. The ePGDSM cohort comprised professionals from esteemed organizations like Tata Steel, Indian Railways, Sports Authority of Goa, and SG Cricket, equipping them to drive growth in India’s evolving sports sector. Noteworthy achievers included Shreya Saxena, who won an individual bronze medal at the 16th USIC World Railway Championship, and Raghav Jamwal, who placed third at the Grappling Asian Championships in Astana, 2023.

The distinguished speakers delivered motivating addresses to the graduates. Mr. Sangram Singh shared his personal journey in sports, emphasizing perseverance and goal-oriented focus. Mr. Mukul Choudhary highlighted the increasing importance of professional management in sports and corporate sectors, while Mr. Rajkiran Kanagala offered insights into leadership and adaptability in today’s business world.

IIM Rohtak, a premier institution of national importance, has over 1,500 students enrolled in various programs and recently received AMBA accreditation, placing it among the top 2% of management institutes worldwide.
