Dr. Mohan Waman Felicitated by Prof. Vilas Adhav

Dr. Mohan Waman, known for his knowledge, integrity and dedicated service to higher education, has excelled in teaching, research and academic administration. His leadership qualities and visionary approach have earned him the position of Vice Chancellor at Dnyaan Prasad Global University.

He was recently felicitated at Dnyaan Prasad Global University, Akurdi, Pune by Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav, Director, Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension, Savitribai Phule Pune University, and Dr. Sangita Salve, Head, Department of Economics, Arvind Telang College. The college’s in-charge Principal, Dr. Mukesh Tiwari, Dr. Minal Bhosale, Mr. Akash Shirke, faculty and staff were also present.

Dr. Waman began his career at B.S.T. College and contributed significantly as an NSS Programme Officer and Student Development Officer. In 1997, he initiated mountaineering camps at Ratanwadi, training thousands of students in discipline, environmental awareness, rappelling and adventure sports.

As Principal of D. Y. Patil College, he led impactful initiatives including cleanliness drives, water conservation, tree plantation and creating ponds for birds. He undertook large-scale plantation of betel, neem and chaff in the Ghorwadeshwar area to promote environmental conservation.

He has successfully organized national conferences in microbiology, economics and botany, and signed an MoU with the Baha’i Institution to promote value-based education, human values and cooperative learning among students.

His calm, friendly and inspiring personality has made him highly respected and admired by students and teachers alike.
