WORKSHOP ON RESEARCH METHODOLOGY HELD AT ARVIND TELANG COLLEGE.
As a part of enduring dedication and commitment to enhance teacher professional development, Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) in association with Camp Education Society’s Arvind Telang College, Nigdi recently organised a workshop on Research Methodology focusing on teacher-educators’ research capacity. .
This workshop was attended by well known scholars from various departments.
Dr. Vilas Adhav, Director of Lifelong Learning and Extension and Professor and Head Department of Economics of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Dr. Pradeep Apte, Professor at Fergusson College and Gokhale Economics Department and Prof. Dr. Kiran Randive, Department of Botany, Annasaheb Magar College, Hadapsar graced the occasion by their presence.
Dr. Vilas Adhav expressed his views and said that research requires consistency and questioning. He added that many unexplained things can be understood only if a question is asked.
Dr. Pradeep Apte presented the subject of research in a very simple manner. Talking about research, he commented on research in Geography and Economics, solving the mystery since human birth. While expressing his opinion, he said that the journey of knowledge is called research and it is this journey that man discovers gradually and develops as science for further research. He also further added that research requires a lot of curiosity and talent.
In the second session of this workshop, Prof. Dr. Kiran Randive, Department of Botany, Annasaheb Magar College, Hadapsar, gave guidance on the subject of scientific research methods and publication. He said that, while conducting any research, the researcher needs to be consistent, persistent, and determined for research.
This workshop was organized under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Prakash Patil. Prof. Dr. Sangeeta Salve co – ordinated the workshop and introduced the guests.
Prof. Manisha Sonawane compared while Dr Ganesh Bhame proposed the vote of thanks. Prof Vanita Lingayat , Vishal Wankhede and all the faculty and students of the college actively participated in organizing the workshop..
