Integrating open jail prisoners back into mainstream society

Initiative of RK Multipurpose Foundation and Poona College

No person is a criminal by nature. He gets trapped in it due to certain circumstances and crises in his life. The biggest penance in life is regret. It is important for the prisoners that after coming out of jail, they should be given some training for their livelihood, so that after coming out, those hands get work and help them and their families to earn their livelihood. Such initiatives are being carried out under the joint aegis of RK Multipurpose foundation and Poona College.

Various useful items were distributed to the inmates of Yerwada Open Jail. Principal of Poona College, Prof. Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh said that Poona College will organize various activities for the prisoners of Yerwada Open Jail, in which skill development, spoken English, entrepreneurship development, Computer and DTP Training, Personality development training and spoken English courses will be taught.

Mrs. Bhagyashree Salunke, Secretary of RK Multipurpose Institution, said that everyone should make efforts to connect the prisoners with the mainstream of the society.

On this occasion, Yerwada Open Jail Superintendent Anil Khamkar, Senior Jail Officer Rajendra Marle, Jail Officer Mr. Hemant Patil, Mr. Santosh Kokane, Mrs. Nisha Shreykar, Mr. Rudra Pandey, Principal of Poona College, Prof. Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh, Mrs. Bhagyashree Salunke, Girish Salunke, Pranab Salunke, Sindeshji, Rajabhau Kondhare, Vaishali Chakankar and other open jail prisoners and staff were present. Shri Hemant Patil expressed the feeling of open prisoners. Shri Rajendra Marle proposed vote of thanks.
