Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs actively participates in the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA) actively participated in the nationwide\u00a0Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) \u2013 2025<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>campaign, observed across all Ministries and Departments of the Government of India from\u00a017th September to 2nd October 2025.\u00a0The campaign aimed to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and awareness among officers and staff.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

On the\u00a0inaugural day,\u00a0Secretary, MoPA Shri Nikunja Bihari Dhal administered the\u00a0Swachhata Pledge\u00a0to all officers and officials of the Ministry, emphasizing that Swachhata should be practiced as a continuous commitment beyond the fortnight. Dr. Satya Prakash, Additional Secretary, briefed the gathering on the day-by-day action plan, which included:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Special cleanliness drives and Shramdaan in Ministry premises.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Inspections of cleanliness and upkeep by senior officers.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0Swachh Air<\/em>\u00a0initiative with CPWD (Horticulture) providing indoor plants for sections and officer cabins.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Employee engagement activities, including a\u00a0Rangoli-making competition.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Health check-up of Safai Mitras at the Parliament House Medical Centre.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Felicitation of Safai Mitras and a closing ceremony to honour their contribution.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

On\u00a025th<\/sup>\u00a0September,\u00a0as part of the nationwide campaign, the Ministry organized\u00a0\u201cEk Ghanta \u2013 Ek Din \u2013 Ek Saath Shramdaan\u201d<\/em>\u00a0at Jain Happy School, Gole Market, New Delhi. The event was led by Union\u00a0Minister of Parliamentary Affairs & Minority Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju,\u00a0who motivated all participants to make Swachhata a part of daily life and administered the\u00a0Swachhata Pledge\u00a0to officers, school management, and students. Shri Rajkumar Jain, Chairman, Ms. Shalini Misra, Principal, and Shri Vikas Jain, General Secretary of Jain Sabha, also participated actively.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

During the programme, Union Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju, Secretary Shri Nikunja Bihari Dhal, and Additional Secretary Dr. Satya Prakash planted saplings in the school campus under\u00a0\u201cEk Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan\u201d,\u00a0symbolizing the commitment towards environmental sustainability alongside cleanliness.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign witnessed active participation from officers and officials of the Ministry, as well as students and school management, making it a joint effort to promote awareness on cleanliness, hygiene, and the dignity of labour.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Towards the conclusion of the SHS\u20132025 campaign, the Ministry organized its\u00a0Closing Ceremony,\u00a0chaired by Dr. Satya Prakash, Additional Secretary, MoPA. On this occasion, Safai Mitras were felicitated for their dedicated service, and prizes were distributed to the winners of the Rangoli-making competition. While addressing the gathering, Dr. Satya Prakash inspired everyone not to confine Swachhata to this fortnight alone but to practice it as a year-round habit. He further emphasized the importance of\u00a0\u201cinner Swachhata\u201d<\/em>\u00a0in behaviour, thoughts, and work ethics, highlighting that true cleanliness begins with self-discipline and positive conduct.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
