Department of Food and Public Distribution, GoI, Prioritises Swachhata and Good Governance Under Special Campaign 5.0<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The Department of Food and Public Distribution, along with its subordinate offices and PSUs, has set ambitious targets under\u00a0Special Campaign 5.0 for Disposal of Pending Matters. Aligned with the campaign\u2019s theme of\u00a0“Institutionalizing Swachhata and Reducing Pendency”, the initiative aims to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and strengthen citizen-centric governance. The campaign focuses on cleanliness, file management, grievance redressal, and e-waste disposal across all offices.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the Cleanliness Campaign,\u00a0933\u00a0sites\u00a0across all offices of the Department have been identified for cleaning. This effort aims to create cleaner and more organized workspaces. The Department is also focusing on identifying and disposing of\u00a0unserviceable items, which will help generate revenue and free up valuable office space.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In addressing references, the following pending matters have been identified to promptly address during the campaign:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a011 references from Members of Parliament<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0937 public grievances<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a07 State Government references<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a015 public grievance appeals<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

To enhance operational efficiency and optimize space utilization, a large-scale record management exercise is currently underway:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • 76707 physical files\u00a0and\u00a05660 e-files\u00a0have been identified for review<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  • 71055 obsolete files\u00a0have been reviewed and marked for weeding out<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    At present, there are\u00a0no pending PMO references, Easing of Rules\/Processes\u00a0or\u00a0Inter-Ministerial references\u00a0under the campaign. However, these areas are being closely monitored for any new cases.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    This Department is confident of achieving all set targets within the stipulated timelines under Special Campaign 5.0 .<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
