This will\u00a0lower household costs, boost festive-season demand, and strengthen income opportunities for dairy farmers\u00a0and SHG-led cooperatives in districts such as\u00a0Krishna, Srikakulam, West Godavari, East Godavari, Guntur, Chittoor and Vizianagaram.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Andhra\u2019s\u00a0dairy market, valued at \u20b9713.9 billion in 2024, is projected to nearly double by 2033, making these tax cuts especially timely for a rapidly expanding sector.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Automobiles and Auto Components<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a key auto hub, with major plants of\u00a0Kia, Isuzu, Hero and Ashok Leyland\u00a0alongside over 100 auto-component MSMEs in districts such as\u00a0Anantapur, Chittoor, Visakhapatnam and Nellore.\u00a0The sector\u00a0employs more than 11,000 people\u00a0(about 4,000 direct and 7,000 indirect jobs), including skilled technicians, ITI diploma holders and engineers.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    With\u00a0GST reduced from 28% to 18% on three-wheelers, small cars and motorcycles\u00a0(up to 350cc engine capacity), and a uniform 18% rate applied on all auto parts, vehicles and spares are now around\u00a08% cheaper.     The state is home to\u00a0250+ bulk drug and API units\u00a0across Anakapalli, Visakhapatnam, Atchutapuram, Naidupeta and Pydibhimavaram, including 38 WHO-approved and 20 USFDA-approved facilities.The sector employs more than\u00a089,000 highly skilled workers, supporting both manufacturing and R&D.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    GST cuts from 12% to nil on 30 cancer drugs, and from\u00a012% to 5% on medicines for personal use, make healthcare more affordable across India. Global companies such as\u00a0Dr Reddy\u2019s, Aurobindo Pharma, GSK, Lupin and Biocon\u00a0operate in the state, while\u00a0exports, led by the USA (52%), South Africa and China, reinforce Andhra\u2019s role as a pharma powerhouse. The tax cuts to improve accessibility for patients and strengthen the competitiveness of Andhra\u2019s life sciences sector in global markets.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Medical Devices<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Andhra Pradesh is home to the\u00a0AP MedTech Zone (AMTZ) in Visakhapatnam, which houses\u00a0over 100 manufacturing units\u00a0producing medical devices, diagnostics and healthcare technologies. The sector generates high-skill employment in R&D, quality assurance and shop-floor roles, while serving a broad patient base across India.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    With\u00a0GST reduced from 18% to 5%\u00a0on devices like\u00a0thermometers and medical apparatus, and from\u00a012% to 5% on surgical instruments, diagnostic kits and reagents, costs are now\u00a07\u201313% lower. This makes healthcare more affordable and accessible for domestic patients, while strengthening Andhra Pradesh\u2019s\u00a0exports to over 80 countries, backed by\u00a0global certifications such as US FDA, CE Marking and ISO.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Renewable Energy<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    With capacity\u00a0growing more than seven-fold between 2014 and 2024, clusters in\u00a0Kurnool, Kadapa and Anantapur\u00a0have positioned the state as a\u00a0front-runner in renewable energy adoption. Only\u00a05.6% of its 167 GW potential has been tapped so far, leaving\u00a0significant room for expansion.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    With\u00a0GST reduced from 12% to 5%\u00a0on renewable energy devices, solar heaters, cookers and fuel cell vehicles, project costs are expected to decline. For instance, the cost of power generation could fall by about 10 paise per unit for solar projects and 15\u201317 paise per unit for wind projects, making renewable energy more viable, affordable and attractive for wider rural and urban uptake. This also strengthens the state\u2019s goal of creating 7.5 lakh green jobs by 2030.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Handicrafts and GI Products<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Araku Coffee<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Cultivated by about\u00a01.5 lakh tribal farmers\u00a0in\u00a0Alluri Sitharama Raju, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari\u00a0districts, this GI-tagged Arabica coffee has built a strong domestic presence through specialty brands such as\u00a0Blue Tokai, while also reaching export markets in\u00a0Sweden, UAE, Italy and Switzerland. With\u00a0GST reduced from 18% to 5%, retail prices are expected to fall, ensuring better value realisation for farmers and strengthening the value chain.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Etikoppaka & Kondapalli Toys<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Traditional toy-making clusters in Anakapalli and NTR districts\u00a0sustain\u00a0thousands of cottage artisans. Recognised with GI tags (Kondapalli in 2006, Etikoppaka in 2017), these toys are sold as cultural and decorative items and also find a niche export market, particularly among the Indian diaspora. With\u00a0GST reduced from 12% to 5%, toys are now\u00a06\u20137% cheaper, boosting affordability during festivals like Navaratri Golu and enhancing export competitiveness.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Leather Puppetry<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Practiced by the\u00a0Marathi Balija community in Anantapur, Guntur and Nellore, this hereditary craft has been GI-tagged since 2008. Traditionally seasonal,\u00a0aligned with temple events and festivals, artisans now diversify into lampshades, wall hangings and souvenirs for year-round income. With\u00a0GST reduced from 12% to 5%, finished pieces are about\u00a06% cheaper, strengthening artisan incomes through handicraft fairs and emporia sales.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Stone Carvings<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    The\u00a0Durgi cluster (Guntur), GI-tagged in 2017, sustains fewer than 50 sculptor families of\u00a0Viswa Brahmin craftsmen.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Meanwhile the\u00a0Allagadda cluster (Nandyal), GI-tagged in 2018, employs over\u00a01,000 artisans\u00a0from hereditary\u00a0Shilpi and Viswakarma families. Products include\u00a0temple idols, household d\u00e9cor and collector pieces, with\u00a0exports to the USA, China and Sri Lanka, including notable buyers such as\u00a0the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Pittsburgh. With\u00a0GST reduced from 12% to 5%, prices are now about\u00a06% lower, supporting domestic temple demand and expanding niche export markets.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
