In\u00a0alignment\u00a0with the Union government\u2019s commitment to environmental conservation, and as part of the ongoing national campaign \u2018Ek Ped Maa ke Naam\u2019,\u00a0the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, today successfully organised a plantation drive\u00a0within the\u00a0Shastri Bhawan premises, New Delhi. The campaign, launched by Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, encourages citizens and institutions to plant trees as a tribute to their mothers, thereby nurturing both environmental sustainability and personal bonds of gratitude.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The drive was inaugurated by Dr Anju Rathi Rana, Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs. Speaking at the event, Dr Rana highlighted the importance of environment preservation, reiterating the government\u2019s efforts in nurturing a sustainable future for the nation.\u00a0\u201cWhen we plant a tree in the name of our mother, we honour the nurturing spirit that sustains life. Every sapling planted today is not just a tree for tomorrow, but an investment in a healthier, greener, and more resilient India. Our actions today will define the environment that future generations inherit,\u201d she said.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The event witnessed\u00a0enthusiastic\u00a0participation of senior officers and staff members of the Department.\u00a0The plantation initiative forms part of the Department\u2019s wider calendar of activities under\u00a0\u2018Swachhata Hi Seva \u2013 2025\u2019\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0\u2018Poshan Maah \u2013 2025\u2019<\/em>, thereby linking environmental action with the twin goals of cleanliness and nutrition for holistic well-being.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
