This disbursement was done against loan sanction of\u00a0Rs. 906 crore. The event was held at Rajghat office in New Delhi, from where\u00a0Shri Manoj Kumar\u00a0Chairman, KVIC\u00a0along with his team released this subsidy to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through virtual medium. Ms. Roop Rashi CEO, KVIC along with other senior officers of the Central Office were present on this occasion.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Speaking on this occasion, Chairman Shri Manoj Kumar opined that under the leadership of\u00a0Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi\u00a0the vision of\u00a0&#8216;Self-reliant and Developed India&#8217;\u00a0is being recognized and PMEGP scheme has become its strong pillar. He reiterated that this scheme is not limited to providing only financial assistance, but it has also become a social movement which is connecting lakhs of youth, women and artisans with self-employment and entrepreneurship. The role of this scheme has been significant in creating employment and self-reliance in every village.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image001ZXAS.jpg\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>All the six zones of the country actively participated in this disbursement program. Under the Central Zone, subsidy of\u00a0Rs 72 crore\u00a0was disbursed for a total of\u00a02403 projects\u00a0in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand for which a total loan of\u00a0Rs 218 crore\u00a0was sanctioned. In the East Zone, subsidy of\u00a0Rs 22 crore\u00a0was disbursed to\u00a0996 projects\u00a0in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Andaman &amp; Nicobar Islands while loan sanction was about\u00a0Rs 71 crore.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>To the states of North India \u2013 Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu &amp; Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan and Union Territory Chandigarh \u2013 a total of\u00a02713 projects\u00a0were given subsidy of\u00a0Rs 61 crore\u00a0and loan of\u00a0Rs 184 crore\u00a0was sanctioned for these projects. The\u00a081 projects\u00a0of North East Region received\u00a0subsidy of Rs 2 crore, which included states like Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>In South- states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry,\u00a0subsidy of Rs 116 crore\u00a0was disbursed covering\u00a04565 projects, while loans of more than\u00a0Rs 343 crore\u00a0were sanctioned for these projects. In the West Zone states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa, subsidy of more than\u00a0Rs 26 crore\u00a0was disbursed for a total of\u00a0722 projects, against the\u00a0 loan sanction of\u00a0Rs 82 crore.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Since its inception till the financial year 2024-25, the Prime Minister\u2019s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) has become a pillar of entrepreneurship and self-reliance in rural and urban India. A total of\u00a010,18,185 micro enterprises\u00a0have been set up under the scheme so far, for which\u00a0loans of Rs 73,348 crore\u00a0have been sanctioned by the Government of India. Against this,\u00a0margin money subsidy of Rs 27,166 crore\u00a0has been provided to the beneficiaries. So far, more than\u00a090,04,541 people\u00a0across the country have got\u00a0direct and indirect employment\u00a0through this scheme, which makes it one of the most effective self-employment schemes in the country.
