{"id":4627,"date":"2025-06-10T12:16:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T06:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theeducationoverview.in\/?p=4627"},"modified":"2025-06-10T12:16:00","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T06:46:00","slug":"union-minority-affairs-minister-shri-kiren-rijiju-leads-special-tree-plantation-drive-ek-ped-maa-ke-naam-of-moma-on-world-environment-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theeducationoverview.in\/?p=4627","title":{"rendered":"Union Minority Affairs Minister, Shri Kiren Rijiju leads Special Tree Plantation Drive \u2013 \u2018Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam\u2019 of\u00a0MoMA on World Environment Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"text-center event-heading-background\">\n<h2 id=\"Titleh2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Union Minority Affairs Minister, Shri Kiren Rijiju leads Special Tree Plantation Drive \u2013 \u2018Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam\u2019 of\u00a0MoMA on World Environment Day<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"PrDateTime\" class=\"ReleaseDateSubHeaddateTime text-center pt20\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Posted On: 05 JUN 2025 5:04PM by PIB Delhi<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"pt20\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>To mark World Environment Day 2025, the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA) organised\u00a0 a special tree plantation drive today\u00a0 under the theme\u00a0\u2018Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam\u2019\u00a0at Central Waqf Bhawan, Saket, New Delhi.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The event was led by Union Minister of Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju.He was joined by Union\u00a0Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri George Kurian, and Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar,\u00a0along with senior officials of the Ministry and Central Waqf Council.\u00a0The initiative aimed to encourage citizens to plant a tree in honour of their mothers, blending emotional tribute with environmental responsibility.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image001DNUS.jpg\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>In his address to the media, Shri Kiren Rijiju emphasised India\u2019s global leadership in ecological conservation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The Minister stated that India is making significant contributions to increasing the green cover through plantation drives etc. We are not just committed to preserving the environment, we are actively reclaiming and restoring ecological balance,\u00a0 he said .<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The Minister also underlined the government\u2019s continued efforts to empower minority institutions like the Central Waqf Council (CWC)\u00a0and ensure transparent governance. Referring to recent legislative progress, he highlighted the Waqf Amendment Act 2025, which strengthens the legal and administrative framework for managing Waqf properties.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>\u201cWe aim to make the Central Waqf Council more robust and responsive in its service to the community,\u201d he added.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image0028EA2.jpg\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>During the interaction, Shri Rijiju announced the upcoming launch of the \u2018UMEED\u2019 Central Portal, scheduled to go live on 6th June, 2025. The portal will facilitate the digitisation and registration of Waqf properties, enhancing transparency, governance and utilisation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>\u201cState Governments and Waqf Boards must actively upload and manage data to ensure that over 9 lakh Waqf properties are utilised meaningfully, especially for the welfare of women and children,\u201d he urged.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The Minister also took a moment to express condolences for the victims of the recent tragic incident in Bengaluru.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The plantation drive saw active participation from all levels of the Ministry. Officials and staff members planted saplings in the name of their mothers, reinforcing the emotional and symbolic depth of the initiative.
