13TH EDITION OF ADMIRAL’S CUP SAILING REGATTA CONCLUDES AT INDIAN NAVAL ACADEMY<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Team Russia Wins the Coveted Admiral\u2019s Cup 24<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

The\u00a013th edition of \u2018Admiral\u2019s Cup\u2019\u00a0Sailing Regatta concluded on Friday,\u00a013 Dec 24\u00a0with a scintillating closing ceremony at Ettikulam Beach at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala.\u00a0Team Russia represented by Lt Gorkunov Petr llyich and Cdt Loshichinina Polina Vladislavovna won the Admiral’s Cup 24.\u00a0 Team Italy represented by Midshipman Carlo Leonardo and Ensign Camilla Bernabei was the Runners-Up and Team India\/ INA \u2018A\u2019 represented by SLt Japman Avtar and Cdt PK Reddy finished third.\u00a0 Lt Gorkunov Petr llyich from Russia stood first in the individual position in the men\u2019s category followed by 2Lt Darius Lee Kheng Wee from Singapore and Ensign Pappas Vissarion HN from Greece at second and third positions respectively.\u00a0\u00a0 Ensign Camilla Bernabei from Italy finished first in the individual position in women\u2019s category followed by Cdt Loshichinina Polina Vladislavovna from Russia and SLt Isha Shah from India at second and third positions respectively.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

VAdm CR Praveen Nair, Commandant, INA, the chief guest for the closing ceremony, presented the \u2018Admiral\u2019s Cup\u2019, Runners Up trophy and the individual prizes.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Admiral\u2019s Cup witnessed closely contested sailing races in Laser Radial boats during race days held from\u00a009 to 13 Dec 24. A total of\u00a053\u00a0participants, including\u00a014\u00a0female participants displayed their sailing skills in the Laser Radials in challenging wind and weather conditions as they squeezed every knot out of their boats over the past four days of the races.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The event has gained substantial popularity since its inception in 2010. The\u00a013th edition of Admiral\u2019s Cup Sailing Regatta 2024, saw participation from 25 countries\u00a0and Indian teams from Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from the competitive racing during the five day event, the visiting foreign teams and accompanying officials were involved in various activities which included visit to training and sporting facilities located at Indian Naval Academy, fitness trek to Mount Dilli and a cultural package showcasing India’s rich traditions, languages, culture, dance and art forms. The event culminated in a grand finale with the closing ceremony on 13 Dec 24.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
