Swachhata Pakhwada Cleanliness Campaign Observed by Department of Food and Public Distribution from 16\u201328 February 2026<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) organized a series of cleanliness and awareness activities as part of the\u00a0Swachhata Pakhwada\u00a0campaign observed from\u00a016th to 28th February 2026, reaffirming its commitment towards cleanliness and environmental sustainability.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The year\u00a02026 marks the 11th consecutive year\u00a0of implementation of Swachhata Pakhwada in the Department. The proposed activity calendar along with detailed guidelines was circulated to all organizations and offices associated with DFPD to ensure effective participation and coordinated implementation of the campaign.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign commenced on\u00a016th February 2026\u00a0with an inaugural ceremony during which officers and staff of DFPD took the\u00a0Swachhata Pledge, reiterating their resolve to promote cleanliness and support the objectives of the\u00a0Swachh Bharat Mission. The pledge was administered under the leadership of the\u00a0Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser (AS&FA), DFPD, encouraging the adoption of best cleanliness practices in workplaces and daily life.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

During the fortnight, several activities were undertaken including\u00a0discouraging the use of single-use plastics, promoting effective waste management, and organizing plantation drives. Awareness banners and posters highlighting the importance of cleanliness were displayed prominently across offices of the Department.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

All organizations under DFPD actively participated in the campaign on a daily basis with the objective of promoting the vision of\u00a0\u201cClean India and Healthy India.\u201d\u00a0Activities such as\u00a0removal of unwanted clutter, dusting and sanitization of office premises, waste segregation, and cleaning of common areas including washrooms\u00a0were carried out to create a cleaner and healthier workplace environment.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the campaign, a\u00a0felicitation programme\u00a0was also organized to recognize the valuable contribution of\u00a0Safai Mitras. During the programme, gift hampers were presented to sanitation workers as a token of appreciation for their dedicated efforts in maintaining cleanliness in office premises.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Department reiterated its commitment to sustaining the spirit of\u00a0Swachhata\u00a0through continuous awareness and collective action, contributing to the broader vision of a\u00a0clean and healthy nation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
