Release of findings of Independent Drive Tests (IDT<\/u>)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has conducted Independent Drive Tests (IDT) covering Guna & Ashoknagar Cities and nearby areas and Guna to Bhopal Highway of MP LSA during the month of January \u2013 February \u20192026. The IDT have been designed to capture real-world mobile network performance across diverse usage environments \u2013Urban zones, hotspots, public transport hubs etc.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

TRAI, through its appointed agency, conducted detailed drive tests of 196.7 Kms of City test, 201.2 Kms of Highway test and 1.5 kms of walk test in Guna & Ashoknagar Cities and Guna to Bhopal Highway during 30th<\/sup>\u00a0January to 02nd<\/sup>\u00a0February \u20192026. Technologies evaluated included 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G, reflecting the service experience of users across multiple handset capabilities. The findings of IDT have been intimated to all the TSPs concerned for further necessary action.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Key Parameters Assessed:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Voice Services:\u00a0Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR), Drop Call Rate (DCR), Call Setup Time, Call Silence Rate, Speech Quality (MOS), Coverage.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Data Services:\u00a0Download\/Upload Throughput, Latency, Jitter, Packet Drop Rate, and Video Streaming Delay.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Call Setup Success Rate:\u00a0Airtel, BSNL, RJIL and VIL have 99.01%, 77.71%, 100.00% and 98.78%, call setup success rate respectively in Auto-selection mode (5G\/4G\/3G\/2G).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Drop Call Rate\u00a0– Airtel, BSNL, RJIL and VIL have drop call rate of 0.00%, 2.51%, 0.49% and 1.72% respectively in Auto-selection mode (5G\/4G\/3G\/2G).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \u2022 The poor Signal Strength in auto-selection mode (5G\/4G\/3G\/2G) during voice testing has been observed as 1.02%, 4.51%, 1.35% & 3.38% in the City IDT route in case of Airtel, BSNL, RJIL & VIL respectively.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \u2022 The poor Signal Strength in auto-selection mode (5G\/4G\/3G\/2G) during data testing has been observed as 8.23%, 7.75%, 10.41% & 7.55% in the City IDT route in case of Airtel, BSNL, RJIL & VIL respectively.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \u2022 The poor Signal Strength in auto-selection mode (5G\/4G\/3G\/2G) during voice testing has been observed in 3.57%, 31.57%, 1.36% & 8.14% of the Highway IDT route in case of Airtel, BSNL, RJIL & VIL respectively.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \u2022 The poor Signal Strength in auto-selection mode (5G\/4G\/3G\/2G) during data testing has been observed in 16.90%, 42.13%, 11.44% & 12.16% of the Highway IDT route in case of Airtel, BSNL, RJIL & VIL respectively.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Call Setup Time:\u00a0Airtel, BSNL, RJIL & VIL have call setup time of 1.40, 1.83, 0.72 and 0.83 seconds respectively in Auto-selection mode (5G\/4G\/3G\/2G).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Drop Call Rate:\u00a0Airtel, BSNL, RJIL and VIL have drop call rate of 0.00%, 2.51%, 0.49% and 1.72% respectively in Auto-selection mode (5G\/4G\/3G\/2G).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Call Silence\/Mute Rate:\u00a0Airtel, BSNL, RJIL and VIL have silence call rate of 0.64%, 8.93%, 1.33% and 1.00% respectively in packet switched network (4G\/5G).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Mean Opinion Score (MOS):\u00a0Airtel, BSNL, RJIL and VIL have average MOS of 3.98, 3.24, 4.38 and 3.97 respectively.<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n

    Data Download performance (Overall):\u00a0Average download speed of Airtel (5G\/4G\/2G) is 120.64 Mbps, BSNL (4G\/3G\/2G) is 12.59 Mbps, RJIL (5G\/4G) is 188.58 Mbps and VIL (4G\/2G) is 18.95 Mbps.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Data Upload performance (Overall):\u00a0Average upload speed of Airtel (5G\/4G\/2G) is 18.40 Mbps, BSNL (4G\/3G\/2G) is 4.17 Mbps, RJIL (5G\/4G) is 21.94 Mbps and VIL (4G\/2G) is 9.53 Mbps.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Latency (Overall):\u00a0Airtel, BSNL, RJIL and VIL 50th<\/sup>\u00a0percentile latency is 45.57 ms, 48.81 ms, 29.52 ms & 33.58 ms respectively.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
