The Ministry of Steel, Government of India, convened a high-level interactive session with senior diplomats from across the globe to advance strategic collaboration in the steel sector and outline the roadmap for its flagship international event,\u00a0\u2018Bharat Steel 2026.\u2019<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Addressing the diplomatic community, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, underscored the steel industry\u2019s pivotal role in powering India\u2019s industrial and economic transformation. He highlighted the sector\u2019s ambitious expansion plans, with capacity targets of 300 million tonnes (MT) by 2030 and 400 MT by 2035\u2014positioning India as a global leader in steel production.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Emphasizing the sector\u2019s rapid modernization, Shri Poundrik invited global partners to collaborate with India as the domestic steel industry transitions toward low-carbon production pathways and advanced process technologies. He reaffirmed India\u2019s commitment to building resilient and sustainable global supply chains rooted in innovation, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Providing a preview of\u00a0\u2018Bharat Steel 2026,\u2019\u00a0an International Conference-cum-Exhibition scheduled for April 16\u201317, 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, he highlighted India\u2019s commitment to forging enduring and sustainable international partnerships. India\u2019s strategy is focused on strengthening raw material security, accelerating technology transfer, advancing green and sustainable steel production, and fostering meaningful global collaboration.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The session witnessed strong engagement from the diplomatic community, with representatives expressing appreciation for India\u2019s forward-looking vision and enthusiasm for participating in Bharat Steel 2026. The upcoming summit is poised to serve as a premier global platform for dialogue, innovation exchange, and strategic partnerships in the steel sector.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
