Addressing the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, described artificial intelligence as a defining force of the decade and underscored the importance of global collaboration to ensure its benefits are widely shared.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are on the cusp of an era of hyper progress and new discoveries, but the best outcomes are not guaranteed. We must work together to ensure the benefits of AI are available to everyone and everywhere,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he said, highlighting the responsibility that accompanies rapid innovation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Emphasising the strategic importance of bilateral cooperation, Pichai noted,\u00a0\u201cThe US India partnership has a critical role to play.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Expressing confidence in India\u2019s leadership, he added,\u00a0\u201cI believe India is going to have an extraordinary trajectory with AI and we are supporting it with a full stack commitment, including products, scaling and infrastructure.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

He outlined Google\u2019s efforts across three key pillars, products, skilling and infrastructure. On real-world applications, he pointed to initiatives ranging from\u00a0\u201cdelivering timely monsoon forecasts to farmers\u201d<\/em>\u00a0to helping healthcare workers\u00a0\u201cscreen for diseases like diabetic retinopathy,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0alongside expanding access to AI tools in Indian languages.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

On workforce development, he announced that\u00a0\u201cthrough the AI skill house, we are working to equip 10 million future Indian leaders with the tools to drive global progress.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0On infrastructure, he referenced Google\u2019s $15 billion investment in India, including an AI hub in Vizag that\u00a0\u201cwill house gigawatt scale compute when finished<\/em>\u201d and bring cutting-edge capabilities to businesses across the country.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Pichai also highlighted the India\u2013America Connect initiative, which will expand subsea cable routes between the two nations, serving as\u00a0\u201ca literal bridge between our two countries.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Stressing the need for resilience, he added,\u00a0\u201cNone of this would be possible without stable supply chains built on a foundation of shared trust.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
