Hosted by National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) under the WAVES (World Audio Visual &amp; Entertainment Summit) initiative, the event underscored India\u2019s rising stature as a \u201cGlobal Content Factory,\u201d highlighting the country\u2019s expanding influence across cinema, media and emerging creative technologies.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image001X7GN.jpg\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><u>India as a Global Content Factory<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The day commenced with opening remarks by Shri Gautam Bhanot, GM \u2013 NFDC, who outlined the \u201cWay Forward\u201d for India\u2019s AVGC and film sectors. A high-level panel discussion titled \u201cIndia as a Global Content Factory: Scale, Talent, and New Business Models\u201d, moderated by Vidushi Kain, General Manager \u2013 Media &amp; Communication, NFDC, explored India\u2019s growing potential to lead international storytelling. Featuring Marten Rabarts (IFFR Pro), Katharina Suckale (Bombay Berlin Film Productions), and Tommaso Priante (Luminalia), the discussion highlighted how platforms like Film Bazaar, WAVES Bazaar, and government-supported initiatives such as WAVEX and CIC challenges are strengthening India\u2019s production scale, nurturing talent, and enabling cross-border collaborations, positioning the country as a globally competitive hub for creative industries and innovation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image002GX8R.jpg\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><u>Ministerial Presentations: Delhi and Maharashtra<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>In a significant push for regional film tourism, both Delhi and Maharashtra presented their strategic agendas. Shri Kapil Mishra, Hon\u2019ble Minister of Tourism, Art &amp; Culture (Delhi), led the presentation for Delhi Tourism, highlighting the capital&#8217;s revamped policies for filmmakers.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>This was followed by a presentation on Maharashtra Film City by Shri Ashish Shelar, Hon\u2019ble Minister of Culture (Maharashtra). The Minister detailed the state\u2019s initiatives to provide end-to-end production support and financial incentives to boost local and international projects. Both Ministers were felicitated for their contribution to the cultural economy.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><u>Spotlight on Global Co-Productions: The Kurinji Project<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>At Bharat Parv on 13 February, the Waves Bazaar Global Outreach Delegation at the European Film Market showcased the internationally mounted feature\u00a0<em>Kurinji<\/em>\u00a0through a panel discussion on its India\u2013France\u2013Germany co-production model. The session featured writer-director Payal Sethi and her international producing partners.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>A recipient of the Berlinale Talents fellowship and First Prize at the NFDC Waves Film Bazaar Co-Production Market,\u00a0<em>Kurinji<\/em>\u00a0is a character-driven drama set in Kerala exploring migration, identity, and resilience. Produced by FilmKaravan, known for the International Emmy-winning series Delhi Crime, the project reflects strong cross-border collaboration and highlights India\u2019s growing presence in globally relevant storytelling.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><u>Empowering New Talent: Open Pitches &amp; CIC<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>A dedicated segment, \u201cFilmmakers &amp; Tech Startups Open Pitch,\u201d showcased nine feature film projects spanning diverse genres and regions.
