While judgments are authored primarily in English, a large section of litigants operates in regional languages. These translated judgments are hosted on the\u00a0e-SCR portal, significantly expanding public access.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Supreme Court and High Court AI Translation Committees\u00a0oversee quality and constitutional accuracy. It replaces legacy systems and\u00a0ensures accurate, timely and uniform fingerprint-based identification across law enforcement agencies nationwide.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>AI-Supported Recording of Proceedings and Evidence<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>AI-enabled systems are also improving the recording and preservation of court proceedings. AI-supported voice processing ensures clarity, continuity, and accurate documentation, particularly in criminal trials involving multiple stakeholders across locations. Additionally, digital recording of evidence on platforms like\u00a0e-Sakshya\u00a0improves accuracy and reduces procedural disputes\u00a0related to record integrity.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"table-responsive\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<table class=\"Table\" border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"5\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Institutional Governance, Safeguards and Investments<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>To ensure structured oversight,\u00a0the Supreme Court constituted an AI Committee, later reconstituted to strengthen its mandate. The Committee, chaired by a\u00a0sitting Supreme Court judge, oversees AI initiatives\u00a0in the judiciary such as\u00a0translation, research assistance and process automation and reviews pilots before wider adoption.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Most AI tools are being developed under the e-Courts Project Phase III within\u00a0Detailed Project Reports (DPRs)\u00a0approved boundaries. The\u00a0Supreme Court\u2019s eCommittee sets policy and strategy, while\u00a0High Courts handle implementation\u00a0allowing local adaptation within national standards.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Safeguards around data privacy, security and bias mitigation have been explicitly acknowledged by the judiciary. Dedicated\u00a0sub-committees comprising High Court judges and technical experts\u00a0have been constituted to examine secure connectivity, authentication mechanisms, and protection of judicial data.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>In regards to Investments and capacity building, AI integration in India\u2019s judiciary is being driven by sustained government efforts in this direction.
