World Cancer Day 2026 at All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi Observes World Cancer Day 2026 with Awareness and Academic Activities<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The\u00a0All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi\u00a0observed\u00a0World Cancer Day 2026\u00a0with a series of awareness-oriented and academic activities organized by the\u00a0Centre for Integrative Oncology (CIO), reinforcing the institute\u2019s commitment to cancer prevention, early detection, and integrative care through Ayurveda.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The activities started on\u00a03rd February 2026\u00a0with student-focused activities including a\u00a0Slogan Competition\u00a0and an\u00a0Essay Writing Competition, aimed at promoting creative engagement and sensitizing young enthusiastic minds to imbibe the importance of cancer awareness, prevention, and holistic healthcare.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The main program was held on\u00a04th February 2026\u00a0and was attended by eminent academicians, clinicians, researchers, and students.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Morning Session- Patient sensitisation & Awareness activities<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Inaugural Ceremony\u00a0was graced by distinguished dignitaries including:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  • Dr. Amrish Dedge<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Dr. Meeta Jhala<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The dignitaries emphasized the growing cancer burden and the importance of\u00a0Ayurveda-based integrative oncology\u00a0for prevention, supportive care, and survivorship.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    A\u00a0Patient Awareness speeches\u00a0were conducted in the\u00a0hospital OPD premises, where patients and attendants were educated on early warning signs of cancer, lifestyle risk factors, and the role of Ayurveda in cancer prevention and supportive care by faculties, PhD and Post graduate scholars of AIIA.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Afternoon Session- Expert Guest Lecture<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    While welcoming, the audience were addressed\u00a0by\u00a0(Prof.) Yogesh Badwe, Medical Superintendent AIIA Hospital,\u00a0Prof. (Dr.) Manjusha Rajagopala, Dean FAUM, DU and\u00a0Prof. (Dr.) Ramakant Yadav, Dean (PG).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    A comprehensive\u00a0Report on CIO Activities\u00a0in 2025 was presented by\u00a0Dr. Amrish Dedge, highlighting the Centre\u2019s initiatives in integrative cancer care, research, awareness programs, and patient care.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    This was followed by the\u00a0Release of the CIO Information Brochure\u00a0by the dignitaries, marking an important step in disseminating knowledge on Ayurveda-based integrative oncology services available at AIIA.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    A\u00a0Guest Lecture\u00a0was delivered by\u00a0Dr. Ashok Patel, Associate Professor,\u00a0Kusuma School of Biological Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, who provided valuable insights into the molecular understanding of cancer alongwith genomics fundamentals in cancer research and the scope of interdisciplinary approaches in oncology in research and healthcare.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Dr. Patel was formally\u00a0felicitated\u00a0for his contribution, along with recognition of all coordinators and organizing committee members.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The winners of the\u00a0Slogan and Essay Competitions\u00a0were awarded acknowledging their creative and intellectual involvement and contribution with present theme of cancer awareness.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The\u00a0Presidential Address\u00a0by\u00a0Prof. (Dr.) Pradeepkumar Prajapati, Director, AIIA, emphasized the crucial role of Ayurveda in\u00a0cancer prevention, lifestyle modification, immunity enhancement, and integrative patient care, and reiterated AIIA\u2019s commitment to advancing evidence-based integrative oncology.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The program concluded with a\u00a0Vote of Thanks\u00a0by\u00a0Dr. Pramod Yadav, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, speakers, faculty members, students, and participants for making the World Cancer Day observance a meaningful success.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
