IICA and National Productivity Council Explore Strategic Convergence for Viksit Bharat<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The\u00a0Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs)\u00a0hosted a high-level delegation from the\u00a0National Productivity Council (NPC)\u00a0led by\u00a0Smt. Neeraja Shekhar, Director General, and\u00a0Shri Umashankar Prasad, Deputy Director General (Group), to explore areas of collaboration in training, research, productivity, sustainability, and compliance support.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The delegation was warmly welcomed by the\u00a0Director General & CEO, IICA\u00a0Sh Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh\u00a0who felicitated the dignitaries with shawl and memento.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 In his address, the\u00a0DG & CEO, IICA, emphasized the growing and evolving demands from industry and the need for institutions to remain relevant to national priorities. He underlined that India\u2019s leadership has articulated a clear vision for the future, and institutions must collectively contribute\u2014both individually and collaboratively \u2014towards achieving the goal of\u00a0Viksit Bharat.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0During the visit, detailed presentations were made on IICA\u2019s mandate and activities by the Heads of various Schools and Centres. The presentations highlighted IICA\u2019s multifaceted role in\u00a0education, training, research, advocacy, and advisory services, supporting both government and private sector initiatives.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 Speaking at the interaction,\u00a0Smt. Neeraja Shekhar, DG, NPC, highlighted that NPC was established in\u00a01958, soon after India\u2019s independence, when the country faced limited resources and an urgent need to improve productivity. She recalled the historic productivity delegation to Japan, which laid the foundation for institutionalizing productivity efforts in India.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 Since then, NPC has expanded its work from the industrial sector to\u00a0agriculture, services, MSMEs, sustainability, green productivity, and ESG-linked initiatives.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 Smt. Shekhar further noted NPC\u2019s active engagement with the\u00a0Asian Productivity Organization (APO), facilitating international exposure, inter-country study visits, expert exchanges, and productivity benchmarking frameworks. These initiatives help assess industrial readiness, organizational strength, financial capability, and manufacturing maturity, particularly for\u00a0MSMEs.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 Both institutions expressed strong intent to move forward collaboratively, combining IICA\u2019s strengths in\u00a0policy research, training, and advisory services\u00a0with NPC\u2019s\u00a0hands-on, implementation-driven productivity expertise, to support India\u2019s transition towards a\u00a0high-income, competitive, innovative, and sustainable economy.
