The appointment will be effective from 19 January 2026 and will remain valid for a term of three years.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"577\" data-end=\"804\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>With this appointment, Prof. Akhtar becomes one of the nominated members of the Executive Council, the university\u2019s highest decision-making body responsible for policy formulation, administration, and governance matters of AMU.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"806\" data-end=\"1191\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Prof. Shahid Akhtar is a distinguished academician and educationist. Prior to this appointment, he has held several important positions, including Chairman of the Jharkhand Minority Commission and Vice-Chairman of the National Council for Urdu Language Development (NCUL).
