During the FY 25-26,\u00a0so far 9 projects have been made operational, enhancing sewage treatment capacity in key urban centres. Till Q2 Udham Singh Nagar (Uttrakhand), Moradabad (UP), Maheshtala (WB) and Jangipur (WB) have been operationalised.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>With the commissioning of these 5 projects, the\u00a0total STP capacity commissioned under the Namami Gange Programme has reached 3,976 MLD, while the\u00a0total number of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) commissioned now stands at 173. These achievements reinforce the Mission\u2019s core objective of preventing untreated sewage from entering rivers and improving urban sanitation infrastructure.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>In\u00a0Shuklagunj, Uttar Pradesh, pollution abatement efforts have received a major boost with the commissioning of a\u00a05 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant, developed at a cost of\u00a0\u20b965 crore. The project, implemented under the\u00a0Hybrid Annuity Model, is based on\u00a0Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) technology. The project will benefit a population of approximately\u00a0three lakh people, ensure effective interception and diversion of sewage and prevent its discharge into the\u00a0River Ganga.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>5 MLD STP at Shuklagunj<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>5 MLD STP at Shuklagunj<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>In\u00a0Agra, Uttar Pradesh, a key city along the Yamuna basin, two STPs with capacities of\u00a031 MLD and 35 MLD\u00a0have been commissioned during Q3 under the\u00a0Pollution Abatement Works, Agra\u00a0project. Sanctioned at a total cost of\u00a0\u20b9842 crore, the project envisages a cumulative capacity of\u00a0177.6 MLD across 13 STPs. Implemented under the\u00a0HAM Model\u00a0using\u00a0SBR technology, the project will benefit nearly\u00a025 lakh residents, significantly reducing the flow of untreated sewage into the\u00a0River Yamuna\u00a0and improving the city\u2019s sanitation profile.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>31 MLD STP at Agra<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>35 MLD STP at Agra<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>In the holy city of\u00a0Varanasi, a\u00a055 MLD STP at Assi\u2013BHU\u00a0has been made operational under a project sanctioned at\u00a0\u20b9308 crore. Based on\u00a0SBR technology\u00a0and implemented under the\u00a0DBOT model, the project will serve a population of around\u00a018 lakh people. The commissioning of this facility is expected to play a crucial role in protecting the\u00a0River Ganga\u00a0from sewage pollution while strengthening long-term wastewater management in the city.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>55 MLD STP at Assi BHU, Varanasi<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>55 MLD STP at Assi BHU, Varanasi<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>In\u00a0North Barrackpore, West Bengal, one\u00a030 MLD STP\u00a0has been commissioned during Q3 under a project sanctioned at\u00a0\u20b9154 crore, out of a planned total capacity of\u00a038 MLD across two STPs.
