The Sardar@150 National Unity Padyatra, being organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports through its MY Bharat platform, continued its spirited journey on\u00a0Day 7 today, carrying forward the nationwide commemoration of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel\u2019s 150th birth anniversary. Over the past week, the padyatra has witnessed\u00a0tree plantation activities, yoga shivirs, cultural programmes, youth engagement, Sardar Gatha, Gram Sabhas, cleanliness drives and extensive community participation, covering a distance of\u00a0over 93 km\u00a0in its first six days. With\u00a021.5 km covered today, the padyatra\u2019s cumulative distance has now reached\u00a0115 km\u00a0as it advances with an unprecedented spirit of jan-bhagidari.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Day 7 began with a\u00a0tree plantation activity\u00a0under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative at Smriti Van, where volunteers, padyatris, students and local residents enthusiastically participated. The programme was attended by key dignitaries across segments including\u00a0tree plantation, padyatra, Sardar Sabha and Gram Sabha.\u00a0Minister of State for Labour & Employment Smt. Shobha Karandlaje\u00a0joined the padyatra this morning, followed by\u00a0Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, who walked with padyatris and interacted with the youth.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A major highlight of the day was the\u00a0Sardar Gatha\u00a0held at\u00a0Sadhali, Vadodara, themed\u00a0\u201cLegacy & Revival \u2013 The Eternal Sardar.\u201d\u00a0The event witnessed the distinguished presence of\u00a0Union Minister of Defence, Shri Rajnath Singh,\u00a0Governor of Punjab & Administrator of Chandigarh Shri Gulab Chand Kataria,\u00a0Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami,\u00a0Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, and\u00a0Minister of State for Labour & Employment Smt. Shobha Karandlaje.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Sardar gatha commenced with\u00a0Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya\u00a0welcoming the dignitaries and highlighting the progress of the padyatra. He noted that in just seven days, the\u00a0padyatra has transformed into a true vichar-yatra, with citizens, particularly farmers, offering local produce to padyatris along the way. He underlined that the initiative is part of a two-year nationwide commemoration, reflecting the deep emotional connection citizens hold towards Sardar Patel\u2019s legacy.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Addressing the gathering,\u00a0Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami\u00a0paid a heartfelt tribute to Sardar Patel, recalling how the great leader had dedicated his life to uniting the nation and integrating the princely states. Shri Dhami affirmed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s leadership, the nation is realising Sardar Patel\u2019s vision of\u00a0Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, and called upon citizens to continue contributing to this national resolve.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, in his address, stated that Sardar Patel instilled patriotism and unity among millions, and emphasised that the unity India enjoys today\u2014and the existence of the world\u2019s tallest statue\u2014is a direct result of Sardar Patel\u2019s decisive leadership. He expressed confidence that today\u2019s aware and patriotic youth will shape India into one of the world\u2019s strongest nations.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Delivering the keynote address,\u00a0Shri Rajnath Singh\u00a0lauded the padyatris for walking\u00a017\u201318 km every day, calling it a testament to their commitment to Sardar Patel\u2019s ideals. He emphasised that the padyatra is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s vision to revive shining chapters of India\u2019s unity. Shri Singh said Sardar Patel\u2019s contributions to safeguarding India\u2019s territorial integrity will never be forgotten, and described the statesman as an enduring source of inspiration for generations of leaders.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Defence Minister recalled Sardar Patel\u2019s historic role in the\u00a0Bardoli Satyagraha, where women bestowed upon him the title \u201cSardar.\u201d He highlighted Patel\u2019s transformative efforts for farmers, including land reforms, and acknowledged the immense contribution of Patel in implementing Gandhiji\u2019s vision on the ground.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Defence Minister underscored how Sardar Patel laid the foundations of India\u2019s\u00a0strong civil services, often referred to as the \u201csteel frame\u201d of governance. Shri Singh also shared that India\u2019s economy has risen from\u00a011th position before 2014 to 4th\u00a0today, and is on track to become the world\u2019s\u00a03rd largest in the coming years, driven by cultural, economic, social and spiritual unity. He reiterated that India is rapidly advancing towards\u00a0Viksit Bharat 2047\u00a0and\u00a0Atmanirbhar Bharat, strengthened by Patel\u2019s inspiration and Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s leadership. Following the address of the Defence Minister,\u00a0 Atmanirbharta Pledge was also taken.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As the padyatra progressed, it covered the following\u00a0route on Day 7:<\/strong><\/span>
\n\u00a0Kayavarohan \u2192 Sadhali Road \u2192 Timbarva \u2192 Birsa Munda Circle \u2192 Sadhali \u2192 Sadhali Bus Stand \u2192 Surasamal \u2192 Shinor \u2192 Sinor APMC.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the evening, a vibrant\u00a0Gram Sabha\u00a0will be organised at\u00a0Shinor APMC, featuring\u00a0Nritya Natika,\u00a0Local Dayro, and an exhibition themed\u00a0\u201cSardar & Home Affairs \u2013 The Architect of Order\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cSardar & Administration \u2013 The Iron Framework of India.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The day\u2019s programme also included extensive cultural performances along the route, interactions with community groups, and thematic storytelling sessions. unity and spirit of the Sardar@150 movement. With strong community participation, inspiring leadership and a renewed spirit of national unity,\u00a0Day 7 reaffirmed the collective resolve to carry Sardar Patel\u2019s message right from villages to national consciousness as the padyatra marches ahead towards Ekta Nagar.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
