The panel comprised noted technologist\u00a0Shri Shankar Ramakrishnan, AI expert\u00a0Shri V. Muralitharan, and internationally acclaimed filmmaker\u00a0Shri Shekhar Kapur.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

He highlighted Kapur\u2019s visionary approach to storytelling and filmmaking, with special mention of the film\u00a0\u201cMr. India\u201d, celebrated even today for its technical innovation and enduring cultural impact.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

AI: The Most Democratic Medium in Film Production<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Initiating the discourse, Shri Shekhar Kapur noted that the world has undergone a profound shift with the rise of artificial intelligence. He described AI as\u00a0\u201cthe most democratic medium for filmmaking\u201d, emphasising that it has dismantled traditional barriers and gatekeeping within the industry.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In an engaging anecdote, he shared how his cook created a script for Mr. India 2 using ChatGPT, illustrating the accessibility and empowerment AI tools bring to ordinary individuals.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

He stated that AI is poised to\u00a0redefine global cinema, offering unprecedented creative freedom. Noting India\u2019s status as the nation with the world\u2019s largest young population, he expressed confidence that this demographic strength will accelerate India\u2019s leadership in the future of film technologies.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

During the session, Shri Kapur also explained the distinction between\u00a0VFX\u00a0and\u00a0AI, clarifying that VFX involves creating or manipulating visuals digitally, whereas AI uses machine-learning models to automate, enhance, or generate elements of the filmmaking process.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Technologists Demonstrate AI\u2019s Practical Applications in Filmmaking<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Technologists\u00a0Shri Shankar Ramakrishnan\u00a0and\u00a0Shri V. Muralitharan\u00a0elaborated on the wide range of AI tools\u2014such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini\u2014that assist filmmakers in scripting, storyboarding, and designing shot descriptions, including lighting and camera requirements.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The duo showcased their AI-assisted film\u00a0\u201cThe Turban and The Rock\u201d, written by Raja Rao, explaining how various AI platforms and models were integrated into its creation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
