Dhiraj Singh<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pt20\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>#IFFIWood, 25 November 2025<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) today saw the launch of\u00a0<em>\u201cRangoli: Roop, Sur, Lay ki \u2013 Bhartiya Cinema ke Vihangam Shikhar Vyaktitva,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0a collaborative publication by the Directorate of Publication Division (DPD) and the Film &amp; Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The book features in-depth articles on eight towering figures of Indian cinema\u2014Paddy S. Jeyaraj, Kedar Sharma, Manna Dey, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Nilu Phule, Basu Chatterjee, Balu Mahendra, and Sumitra Bhave.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/Picture38OW45.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Speaking at the launch,\u00a0Principal Director General, DPD, Sh. Bhupendra Kainthola\u00a0said the book carries forward the legacy of FTII\u2019s acclaimed magazine\u00a0<em>Lens Sight.<\/em>\u00a0<em>\u201cLens Sight was originally published in English, and although FTII later released a Hindi version, its reach remained limited. DPD decided to give it a larger platform and wider accessibility through our nationwide distribution network. We are committed to bringing this rich legacy of Indian cinema closer to cine lovers across the country,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he said. Sh. Kainthola added that publishing the book in Hindi aligns with India\u2019s National Education Policy, which emphasizes learning and cultural resources in Indian languages.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/Picture39U2H1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>FTII Director Sh.\u00a0Dhiraj Singh\u00a0described the book as a testament to India\u2019s cinematic heritage.\u00a0<em>\u201cThere are many cinematic theories in the world, but when we infuse them with our lived experiences, creations like\u00a0Lens Sight\u00a0and\u00a0Rangoli\u00a0emerge. They are our service to cinema,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Singh said. He further emphasized the cultural significance of institutions like FTII:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><em>\u201cInstitutes such as FTII, the National School of Drama, and the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute are civilizational achievements.
