Curtain Raiser Press Conference for the\u00a0fourth edition\u00a0of Indian Navy\u2019s\u00a0Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation (NIIO) Seminar –\u00a0Swavlamban 2025, was conducted in New Delhi on\u00a020 Nov 2025, under the chairmanship of\u00a0VAdm Sanjay Vatsayan, Vice Chief of the Naval Staff.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

While highlighting key features of Swavlamban 2025,\u00a0scheduled from 25 to 26 Nov 2025 at the Manekshaw Centre, Delhi,\u00a0VCNS remarked that the event will highlight the Indian Navy\u2019s innovation and indigenisation efforts, and the contributions of the Indian industry, with a focus on technological advances that could significantly enhance the nation\u2019s defence capabilities. He shared that Swavlamban 2025 will focus more on emerging and disruptive technologies to keep pace with the country\u2019s changing security needs.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

VCNS outlined the Navy\u2019s steady strides towards\u00a0Aatmanirbharta<\/em>\u00a0in defence technologies, aligned with the Swavlamban 2025 theme,\u00a0\u2018Strength and Power through Innovation and Indigenisation\u2019<\/em>\u00a0which highlights the Navy\u2019s focus on collaborative and cutting-edge solutions for operational challenges.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s seminar will include dedicated exhibit zones highlighting products that have emerged as success stories, as well as those realised through the \u2018ideation to induction\u2019 cycle.\u00a0The seminar will also host in-depth brainstorming sessions on policy frameworks and procedures to accelerate adoption of indigenous technologies. Expert-led panels will provide insights into emerging technologies, disruptive trends, and their relevance to the maritime domain. In addition, a dedicated interactive session with venture capitalists would explore avenues for funding, scaling, and nurturing innovative ideas.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s edition will include a wide range of activities such as\u00a0launch of the\u00a0\u2018Innovathon\u2019<\/em>, release of the Compendium of Technology Challenges and Problem Statements, and unveiling of the Swavlamban 4.0 document and the Armament Indigenisation Compendium.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The event aims to bring together innovators, industry partners, academia, MSMEs and Start-ups, enabling them to collaborate, deliberate, and contribute towards shaping future naval capability development.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
