{"id":12547,"date":"2025-12-02T17:06:56","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T11:36:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theeducationoverview.in\/?p=12547"},"modified":"2025-12-02T17:07:04","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T11:37:04","slug":"12547","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theeducationoverview.in\/?p=12547","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"text-center event-heading-background\">\n<h2><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>TEC signs MoU with IIIT Delhi for collaboration on Joint Studies and Technical Contributions in Telecom Technologies and Standardisation Activities<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 id=\"Titleh2\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>TEC signs MoU with IIIT Delhi for collaboration on Joint Studies and Technical Contributions in Telecom Technologies and Standardisation Activities<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><br \/>\nTEC and IIIT Delhi Formalize Next-Gen Telecom Partnership<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>New Telecom Collaboration Aims to Strengthen \u00a0Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission by Enhancing Research for \u00a0Indigenous Telcom Tech and advancing India\u2019s pledge towards Sustainable Development Goals through Research leading to Standards for energy- efficient telecommunication equipment<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"PrDateTime\" class=\"ReleaseDateSubHeaddateTime text-center pt20\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Posted On: 19 NOV 2025 3:02PM by PIB Delhi<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"pt20\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The\u00a0Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC),\u00a0the technical arm of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the\u00a0Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT Delhi)\u00a0to collaborate on joint studies, research, and technical contributions in advanced telecom technologies and global standardisation activities.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The partnership aims to develop India-specific standards and test frameworks, collaborative research in telecom and related ICT, explore future network technologies such as 6G, Optical communication, NTNs, etc. and enhance India\u2019s participation in ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union \u2013 Telecommunication Standardization Sector) Study Groups through National Working Groups.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"Picture_x0020_2\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image0017W5C.jpg\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The MoU was signed on 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0November 2025 by Shri Rakesh Desai, DDG (Fixed Access), TEC and Dr. Abhjit Mitra, Assistant Professor, IIIT-Delhi in presence of Dr. Prof. Ranjan Bose, Director, IIIT-Delhi, Shri Pawan Gupta, DDG (Admin.), TEC, and Dr. Prof. Vivek Ashok Bohara, ECE Department, IIIT-D at IIIT Delhi.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The partnership creates a formal framework for TEC to work closely with IIIT Delhi on next-generation telecom and standardisation activities.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Key Areas of Collaboration:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>AI in Telecom: Al-based network optimization, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, intelligent traffic management, and Al-driven policy enforcement in telecom networks<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>5G\/6G:\u00a0Collaborative research and standardization activities in the field of 5G, 6G, mmWave, mMIMo, heterogeneous networks etc.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>SDN &amp; NFV:\u00a0Joint studies and standardization activities in the field of Software Defined Network (SDN) &amp; Network Function Virtualization (NFV)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Free Space Optical Communication \/ Li-Fi: Joint studies and technical contributions in standardization activities for high-speed, low latency, reliable, secure, optical wireless connectivity for backhaul and access applications, especially in rural and defense applications.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs): Use of ICTs for improving energy efficiency of telecommunication equipments and infrastructure.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>This partnership aims to accelerate indigenous R&amp;D and increase India\u2019s influence in global standardisation processes by strengthening India\u2019s contributions to global standardisation bodies such as ITU and 3GPP.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>This collaboration will further the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision by strengthening indigenous research, design and manufacturing in telecom &#8211; developing India-specific standards, test frameworks and home-grown solutions that bolster national self-reliance, secure critical communications infrastructure and reduce dependence on imports.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>About TEC<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) is the technical arm of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India. TEC formulates technical standards, specifications, and conformity assessment requirements for telecom equipment and networks in India, ensuring interoperability, quality, and alignment with global best practices.
