This marks an important milestone in the ship\u2019s journey from design to induction, celebrating India\u2019s growing self-reliance in naval shipbuilding and the symbolic identity that binds the ship\u2019s heritage, design, and operational role.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2190563\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2190563<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Named after the coastal town of\u00a0<em>Mahe<\/em>\u00a0on India\u2019s western seaboard, the ship reflects India\u2019s enduring maritime traditions and coastal spirit.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The ship\u2019s crest draws inspiration from the cultural and martial legacy of the region, depicting an\u00a0<em>\u2018Urumi\u2019<\/em>\u00a0&#8211; the flexible sword associated with Kalarippayattu and a symbol of Kerala\u2019s martial heritage, rising from the sea.
