He described the event as a celebration not only of sports but of \u201cidentity, excellence, unity and aspiration,\u201d remarking that\u00a0<em>\u201cour tribal children are not waiting for the future\u2014they are becoming the future.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>EMRS: A Silent Transformation in Tribal Education<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The Commissioner highlighted the rapid progress of\u00a0Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), calling it a \u201csilent revolution\u201d that is transforming the educational landscape for tribal communities.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Key points emphasized:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>EMRS, launched in\u00a01997\u201398, aims to eliminate educational gaps and offer high-quality residential education from Classes 6 to 12 with equal representation for boys and girls.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>As of 2025, the Government of India has\u00a0sanctioned 728 EMRS, targeting at least one school in every block with significant tribal population.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>477 EMRS\u00a0are currently functional, serving nearly\u00a01.4 lakh students\u00a0across India.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Under NESTS, financial allocations\u2014including\u00a0\u20b91.47 lakh per student annually\u00a0and an additional support expenditure of\u00a0\u20b934,971 per student\u2014are being effectively utilized to enhance academic, sports and co-curricular outcomes.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Odisha: Leading the EMRS Movement<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Acknowledging the contribution of the host state, the Commissioner stated that:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Odisha has the\u00a0highest number of sanctioned EMRS (114 schools)\u00a0in the country.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The state currently operates\u00a047 functional EMRS\u00a0across 17 districts, with an enrolment of over\u00a012,306 students.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Odisha successfully hosted the\u00a05th National EMRS Cultural Fest (2024)\u00a0and has once again delivered an exemplary national event with efficiency and warmth.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Achievements of the 4th National EMRS Sports Meet<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The Commissioner shared that competitions were organized in\u00a022 sporting disciplines across 8 venues, supported by more than\u00a07000 individuals\u00a0including teachers, officials, volunteers, and support staff. Your journey from your village to these stadiums is a victory in itself. You are breaking stereotypes and proving that India\u2019s tribal youth will shape an inclusive and powerful future. You are not just participating\u2014you are making history.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Closing Remarks<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Declaring the Sports Meet closed, the Commissioner affirmed that the EMRS movement has evolved into a powerful, visible, and confident force of change.
