Shri\u00a0Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Chairman,\u00a0Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), along with Members of the CBIC, inaugurated the\u00a0GST & Customs Pavilion\u00a0at the\u00a044th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025, held at, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, today.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Pavilion, themed\u00a0\u201cNext-Gen GST:\u00a0\u0938\u0930\u0932\u00a0\u0915\u0930,\u00a0\u0916\u0941\u0936\u0939\u093e\u0932\u00a0\u0930\u093e\u0937\u094d\u091f\u094d\u0930\u201d, embodies CBIC\u2019s vision of a simplified, technology-driven, and citizen-centric tax ecosystem. The theme reflects the Government\u2019s continuous efforts to ease compliance, reduce tax burden on common-use items, and foster a business-friendly environment that contributes to the larger goal of\u00a0\u201c\u090f\u0915\u00a0\u092d\u093e\u0930\u0924,\u00a0\u0936\u094d\u0930\u0947\u0937\u094d\u0920\u00a0\u092d\u093e\u0930\u0924\u201d, which is also the central theme of IITF 2025.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman highlighted the transformational journey of GST and Customs administration toward greater digitalisation, transparency, and ease of doing business. He noted that the \u201cNext-Gen GST\u201d reforms \u2014 anchored on three key pillars: Structural Reforms, Rate Rationalisation, and Ease of Living \u2014 are designed to make essential goods and services more affordable for the public, while making tax processes simpler, faster, and more accessible for both taxpayers and businesses.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

He further informed that the pavilion has been designed to effectively communicate these reforms under the\u00a0GST Bachat Utsav, enabling visitors to understand the benefits and avail the maximum savings and relief offered through the new initiatives.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Chairman also cautioned visitors against sharing their identity documents with unauthorized individuals, urging them to remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to frauds committed in the name of GST or Customs.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0GST & Customs Pavilion\u00a0serves as an interactive platform for taxpayers, industry representatives, students and the general public to engage with the latest initiatives of CBIC. The Pavilion has been designed to spread awareness about recent\u00a0public and industry-friendly reforms\u00a0under\u00a0GST\u00a0and\u00a0Customs, and to showcase the Department\u2019s ongoing efforts to enhance taxpayer facilitation and service delivery.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Key Highlights of the Pavilion:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

1. Helpdesks for Onsite Assistance:\u00a0The Pavilion features\u00a0eight dedicated helpdesks\u00a0manned by domain experts from GST, Customs, GST Network (GSTN), ICEGATE and CPGRAMS. These helpdesks provide visitors with real-time assistance on registration, refunds, return filing, grievance redressal and export-import related procedures. Visitors can seek clarifications, get their issues resolved, and learn about best practices in tax compliance.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

2. Educational and Awareness Content:\u00a0A series of\u00a0educational videos\u00a0explain various GST and Customs processes in a simple and engaging manner. To ensure wider reach, these tutorials have been developed in\u00a010 regional languages, apart from Hindi and English. This initiative underscores CBIC\u2019s commitment to inclusivity and public outreach.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

3. Digital & Interactive Displays:\u00a0Large\u00a0digital screens and interactive displays\u00a0present key achievements, policy milestones and ongoing digital transformation initiatives under GST and Customs. These exhibits demonstrate how CBIC\u2019s technology-enabled systems are simplifying compliance, promoting transparency and accelerating trade facilitation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

4. Public Engagement and Entertainment Activities:\u00a0In keeping with IITF\u2019s vibrant spirit, the Pavilion also features\u00a0Magic Shows, Puppet Shows, Live Quizzes, Caricature Artists, Virtual Reality (VR) games, and Selfie Corners\u00a0\u2014 all designed to spread tax awareness in an engaging and accessible manner. Informative\u00a0brochures and leaflets\u00a0on GST, Customs and taxpayer services are also being distributed to visitors.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

5. Youth and Career Orientation:\u00a0The Pavilion also introduces visitors, especially students, to the dynamic and diverse career opportunities available in the CBIC, encouraging the younger generation to learn about the vital role the Department plays in nation-building and trade facilitation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Pavilion will remain open throughout the duration of the India International Trade Fair, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the evolving landscape of indirect taxation and the strides taken by CBIC towards a\u00a0\u201cDigital, Transparent and Efficient India.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
