National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) Organises 4th National EMRS Sports Meet 2025 in Odisha<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Government of India, is organising the\u00a04th National EMRS Sports Meet 2025\u00a0from\u00a011th to 15th November 2025\u00a0across\u00a0Rourkela, Sundargarh, and Rajgangpur in Odisha.\u00a0This sports meet brings together student athletes from\u00a0Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs)\u00a0across\u00a021 States and 1 Union Territory,\u00a0promoting sporting excellence.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a04th National EMRS Sports Meet 2025\u00a0was inaugurated by the Chief Guest\u00a0Shri Jual Oram, Hon\u2019ble Minister of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, on\u00a011th November 2025\u00a0at the\u00a0Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium, Rourkela. The Hon\u2019ble Minister\u00a0lit the ceremonial lamp and the torch,\u00a0marking the formal commencement of the national event.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In his inaugural address,\u00a0Shri Jual Oram\u00a0Ji\u00a0highlighted that the\u00a0comprehensive development of tribal communities can be achieved through quality education, quoting the\u00a0Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, on the Government\u2019s strong focus on\u00a0tribal education and co-curricular activities. He reaffirmed that through\u00a0NESTS,\u00a0the Government of India is working proactively to provide tribal students with opportunities to excel in education, sports, art & culture, and overall development.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The inauguration was graced by\u00a0Shri Ajeet K. Shrivastava, Commissioner, NESTS, Government of India,\u00a0Shri B. Parameshwaran, Secretary, ST & SC Development Department, Government of Odisha, Shri Premjit Nayak, Director, ST,\u00a0and\u00a0Shri Subhankar Mohapatra, Collector, Sundargarh.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Addressing the young athletes,\u00a0Shri Ajeet K. Shrivastava, Commissioner, NESTS,\u00a0encouraged them to\u00a0strive for excellence with discipline and sportsmanship.\u00a0He motivated the students to\u00a0use the Meet to showcase their talent, build character and sportsmanship,\u00a0and also encouraged them to\u00a0give their best, motivate their peers, and develop as both athletes and responsible individuals.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The inaugural event of the\u00a04th National EMRS Sports Meet 2025\u00a0included a ceremonial\u00a0march-past representing over 5,500 student athletes from 21 States and 1 Union Territory, followed by the\u00a0oath-taking ceremony,\u00a0which was conducted under the guidance of\u00a0Hockey Olympian Shri Lazarus Barla.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Adding to the excitement, the students were joined by the official EMRS Sports Meet mascot, \u2018Milan\u2019, Odisha\u2019s melanistic tiger and a rare lineage of royal Bengal tigers.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The closing ceremony of the meet will be held on 15th November 2025, marking the grand finale with prize distribution for the outstanding performers, continuing the tradition of celebrating excellence and achievement among tribal students, on the occasion of 150th<\/sup>\u00a0birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, similar to last year\u2019s cultural fest finale held on 15th<\/sup>\u00a0November 2024.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
