This was the 4<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0such review meeting to assess the ongoing measures for the prevention and control of air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region. Cabinet Minister for Environment, Forest and Wildlife, Government of NCT of Delhi, Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa was present during the meeting.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image001IL9V.jpg\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Shri Yadav upon reviewing the ongoing efforts to control air pollution, requested the concerned authorities to prepare\u00a0District-wise plan for Crop-Residue Management\u00a0and conduct year-round monitoring of stubble burning cases. He further asked the district authorities to undertake capacity building and\u00a0training of farmers\u00a0on operating\u00a0Crop Residue Management (CRM) machines, while ensuring their\u00a0widespread access.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Further, Shri Yadav stressed on ensuring\u00a0zero-tolerance and maintaining constant vigil against open burning of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW).\u00a0He requested the Municipal Authorities of NCR cities to prepare a strict timeline to bridge the gaps in the\u00a0Legacy Waste Management and ensure its accelerated liquidation. Shri Yadav encouraged the authorities to not work in silos and share best practices for MSW management amongst themselves.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The Minister stated that installation of\u00a0Online Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (OCEMS)\u00a0and\u00a0Air Pollution Control Devices (APCD)\u00a0should be taken up in mission mode in the\u00a0Red Category industries in Delhi NCR. In order to minimise\u00a0road dust,\u00a0Shri Yadav reviewed the\u00a0Road Redevelopment Roadmaps\u00a0for the identified Urban\/Industrialised areas of NCR. He asked the authorities to ensure the quality and timely completion of the road construction works. Shri Yadav stressed upon plugging offtake and processing gaps for\u00a0Construction and Demolition (C&amp;D) Waste\u00a0and encouraged Government authorities to take the lead, along with the private sector.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Besides this, the Minister also encouraged various authorities to undertake\u00a0road-side greening\u00a0works on a mission mode so as to minimise dust generation. He suggested that various Municipal Corporations in NCR start developing saplings in Nurseries, in coordination with the respective forest departments, which then could be planted on a wide-scale on degraded forest lands to give a boost to green cover in the region. Further, Shri Yadav requested the Delhi Traffic Police to prepare\u00a0Traffic Management Plans\u00a0for the identified traffic congestion hotspots and expedite the implementation of\u00a0Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS)\u00a0in the National Capital, so as to minimise vehicular pollution generated due to traffic jams.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The Union Minister reiterated the Government\u2019s unwavering commitment to improving air quality in the region through coordinated action and collaboration with all stakeholders, including citizens.
